This week I created two surgical stitch drawings in my sketchbook and used them in Photoshop, mixing them with photographs. I also had a photographer shoot images of my scars for me to use in my art, since the self-timer is effective, but not the most efficient tool when trying to get quality images. Once I had the sketches of stitches finished, I uploaded them into Photoshop and created patterns out of them. I then edited the photographs in Photoshop and mixed the stitches in using various blending modes. Clearly, this mini-series will be called Stitched.
This week I explored more projects related to my Perseverance series and revisited the last Geometric Portrait project I completed. I finished the shoulder anatomy drawing I started a while back, then brought it into Photoshop to mix it with a photograph of my own shoulder. I also hand drew a syringe on durlar, cut it out, and am playing with collaging it into an abstract design I had designed last year. The last piece I played with was using hand drawn patterns and the Displacement Map in Photoshop, bending the patterns to lay on the form in the photograph.
As for the Geometric Portraits, I continued to experiment with effects to achieve a unique look for the common project. I love the galaxy effect and the twisted versions the most. |
