(Monday-Tuesday) The plan for my week off is to spend as much time in my studio as possible. I have been keeping myself busy, working on multiple projects ranging from acrylic gel sheets to painted tissue paper collage. So far, my favorite is my ocean, made initially from bleeding tissue paper scraps, and then painted over with acrylic and texture paste. I still want to go back into it again to get more details in the water (especially the foreground).
I am also exploring the potential of acrylic gel sheets, pouring gel medium and mixing paint and paper into it. Can't wait to use my Frida Kahlo inspired pieces! I am still working on the abstract beach picture of my husband fishing. Added some turquoise and yellow to it today. Time for Monday-Tuesday, 8 hours. (Wednesday-Sunday) Continued to work with the acrylic gel sheets. So many possibilities! I found the mat medium dries frosty, but is still semi-transparent. The gloss medium dries crystal clear, but has a noticeable shine. I can see drawing with string onto a bed of gloss medium could lead to some fantastic contour line overlays. Also spent a lot of time on Pinterest. Running out of time before work begins again on Monday, but having a clean studio space will make it easier to work in there during the evenings. (4 hours)
