This week, I met with my artist-teacher for 2 hours and discussed the direction of my work. We looked at the pieces I have been spending most of my time on, then figured out which were worth pursuing. I then continued to experiment and move forward with the projects. Removed is in two panels, and I practiced actually cutting out a piece of it and adding gesso to the negative space. As I will be until I hit my goal of 90, I also photographed my hand, digitally edited it, printed it, and cut it out. I have about 30 done.
To keep up with observational drawing skills, I found an old string painting and have been adding shoulder anatomy to it.

Studio work this week involved digitally editing photographs of hands, printing them on tracing paper, cutting them out, and playing with compositional arrangements. I also started some digital mock ups of pieces that will become mixed media works, after I test out potential collage materials. The other art related work I completed was continuing to read my Feminist Art History book and a little bit of artist research. I am currently artist-crushing on Titus Kaphar and watched his TED Talk twice because I found it so inspiring. Finally, I took a few more photos for my developing series of images about patient spaces and examination and treatment rooms.
