I was super fortunate to head back to Saltonstall for four days/nights over holiday break. I had an amazing studio space connected to a one bedroom apartment. I finished my second major project for grad school, titled Spoonful of Sugar. It is 27' long and two layers, so technically I worked on 54' of matte drafting film to pull this whole project together!
I also had some creative play time at Saltonstall, so I tried out the squeegee painting I had my students experiment with on our last day of school. I photographed the squeegee paintings and tested them out with multiple-exposures. Then I got back to work and painted the dust cloud on my final piece for grad school, Suppressed / Compressed. I was so inspired by my time at Saltonstall, on my last evening/morning, I painted an anatomical heart, then went home and drew elbow anatomy in permanent marker.
