This week consisted of a major studio clean out! I finally built vertical storage for some of my portfolios and works-in-progress based on a pin I saw on Pinterest. I have not quite organized the contents of the portfolios, but they are off the floor of my studio and easier to access. I also put away the many piles of work piled on my tables so I could have workspace again. I also made art this week. I finished the portrait of the Bolivian child I had been working on for Art Club. Lesson learned, I do not like using grids! He feel stiff and flat. I also played with mixing two images from a concert in Photoshop and worked on a sketch of a Horizontal Mattress suture, which I brought into Photoshop and mixed in with a photograph of my elbow scar. I think I am going to try using a different photo for the reversal experiment, so they will be similar but not identical.
I also purchased a book of surgical sutures for reference and am so excited for it to arrive! It must be authentic for the medical professional world because the spiral bound copy cost $900! I bought the softcover version used for $13.99.
