Quite a busy week in terms of art-ing. It started with some photoshop experimenting with a series of shadow images I took a while back. I don't love the end pieces, but do think I could use this method in the future.
Next, I met with an established artist, Minna Resnick, and we looked at her art and mine. She gave me some initial points to consider in my work, and I immediately tried some of her advice in a piece I made last year, Screwed. I experimented with changing the color and tone on the right side of the image and like how the turquoise version came out. I think I would try painting vellum or tissue paper and collaging over the piece instead of making it a digital edit. I also continued to work on the anatomy drawing and am over half-way done. I brought it into photoshop and cleaned it up, then experimented with turning it into a pattern and mixing it with photography. Lastly, I went to the elementary school art show and design the invitation for the Lansing High School art show, which includes an artwork from each art student in Lansing.
